Unprofessional or Lifestyle? A Case Study of Wakadinali

Wakadinali have been the most dominant Hip Hop trio in the last 3 years and their influence has continued to grow on Hip Hop heads. The trio of Munga Domani, Scar Mkadinali and Sewersydda Mkadinali has dominated the industry for a while now becoming one of the most sought after acts.

The group had  a major performance at the just conclude Oktober Fest where they received mixed reactions after their performance. The group had a clip going viral on social media when the lead singer/rapper Munga Domani lost his voice during the performance.

That was, however, not the highlight of the event as the usual Rende performance came back. The group performed with almost 20 people on stage which according to their hardcore fans was a great show, but to some might appear misplaced.

Rong Rende has been associated with a group mentality and the perception has been to let them have their own way. Their hardcore fans have also become one of the most vocal when it comes to supporting them.

The debate, however, is on whether their antics have become a little too much for the regular professional world to handle. They have attracted shows and endorsements, gotten into rooms we can only dream off but has that enabled a culture of rowdiness when it comes to performance?

The group has continued to rise to fame and reach higher heights despite some negative reviews here and there. They have kept coming up with hit songs and made the Hip Hop genre more vibrant. They have been ridiculed because of their lifestyle and the music content but the group has continued to do great work.

Their performances, just like the one they had last weekend might have crossed a line but professionalism in Hip Hop has never been followed up. They are allowed to express themselves how they see fir but at times they have gone too far.

Wakadinali is a group that through consistency can transcend borders. The fans might think that where they are right now is enough but art should grow. They are supposed to be doing much better. Their shows need a lot of work and although it is always good to eat with the ones you came up with, let those back up dancers do something creative or stay off stage.
