His latest song with probably the best vocalist in Kenya, Iddi Aziz, Similani, is a feel good track that you might forget to listen to the lyrics themselves. Kaa La Moto flows seamlessly on this and you have to be careful not to miss out on the best content in it.
He talks about his journey in the music industry and how he has grown into one of the best rappers in the country. Iddi Aziz only provides a touch of his vocals but it feels like he is influential in the taste of the song. The drums on the beats and that coastal melody improves the whole song.
Kaa La Moto does not struggle at all in the flow even though the beat goes a little bit fast for a rapper of his caliber. Iddi Aziz mentions the Mijikenda while working out the meaning of the song.
Another song that dropped on the same day is his collaboration with the talented Okello Max. Manipulate is a love song and shows Kaa La Moto in a whole different zone. He comes in later in the song and it’s unexpected when he sings about love. His persona does not appear to dwell on affairs of the heart but on this song he delivers well. Okello Max shines as usual as he inputs Luo lyrics into this coastal vibe of a song.
These two songs also come after his monster collaboration with Dizasta Vina from Tanzania that came out a week ago. The song already has more than 56k views on YouTube. The two rappers go at each other and tell a story of conflict between a thief and a citizen. The over 7 minute song delivers one of the best story telling I have seen in rap this year.
Kaa La Moto dropping these two videos on the same day came as a surprise and it shows that he is getting the hang of the new industry. Consistency.
